It all started in 2016 with Bridgit, as a criminology master’s student, and Derryl, a licensed architect, having casual-yet-brilliant conversations about how their two fields could join forces. These chats didn’t just spark some “aha!” moments—they laid the foundation for Tandem!
And here’s an added advantage—our team includes two certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) specialists. Translation? We evaluate not just what people see (hello, lighting, and way-finding signage!) but how they feel in your space. Say hello to the Tandem team—a dynamic duo combining expertise in criminology and architecture with a shared mission to make spaces safer (and yes, way more awesome). On one side, we have our principal consultant, a seasoned pro with over 20 years of experience in criminology and forensic psychology. On the other side, there’s our licensed architect, a visionary with 30+ years of experience designing spaces that are as functional as they are fabulous. Together, they’re the ultimate tag team, blending brains and blueprints to create environments that are safe, smart, and ready to take on the world.
